Second Street and Hope is a Frederick-based non-profit organization focused on alleviating the suffering that is related to addiction and/or poverty. Over 15 years ago we started out by serving meals in the basement of Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church in Frederick, MD. We left Centennial in the fall of 2018 with plans to move to the west side of Frederick. And then, well....COVID. We still love to serve meals and we have plans to do so as a support to other organizations in Frederick just as soon as we're able....We love building community through sharing a meal. We've embarked on some new projects as we continue to focus on alleviating suffering related to addiction and poverty. We currently support a handful of organizations that do great work with the youth in Frederick, and we have created a vibrant community of support for parents who've lost a child to overdose.
